Since 2014, La Trobe Student Theatre & Film has offered the Geoffrey Milne Memorial Writing Award, offering one student $1,000 to write a full-length play per year and the opportunity to stage their original work with Student Theatre. This year, the Geoffrey Milne Award will be separated into three separate creative commissions of up to $500 per artist. Each commission will go towards making a short piece of online theatre, to be presented at this year's Melbourne Fringe Festival as part of La Mama North, a partnership between La Mama Theatre and La Trobe University.
