La Sociedad Spanish Club
La Sociedad, meaning ‘the society’ is La Trobe’s Spanish language club. We are a group of people who share an interest in the culture and language of the Spanish speaking world including South and Central America, the Caribbean, as well as Spain. The acquisition of language is often a social pursuit so we are not just a study or practise group. We meet every Wednesday around 12 to discuss over a drink: adventure, possibilities, exchanges, volunteering, working, study problems and occasionally we do speak Spanish! There is no level needed to participate in our group, we do not just talk about language but all manner of things that are involved with the Spanish speaking world.
