Grampian Mountains, Victoria
Travel into the heart of the spectacular Grampians National Park - one of the world's oldest and most spectacular mountain ranges which rise abruptly to dominate the surrounding plains. Explore Aboriginal history & culture, and prepare yourself for some seriously breath-taking scenery. This tour is sure to leave you in awe. Your experienced guide will point out our unique wildlife, including kangaroos, emus and a vast array of birdlife - be sure to keep your eyes open as the Grampians are teeming with wildlife.
Overnight Trip: Saturday 1 April - Sunday 2 April 2017
DAY 1: Meet your Driver/Guide at 8.00am.
Depart Melbourne travelling along the Western Highway we travel through the Gold mining City of Ballarat learning the history of the Gold Rush era. We stop for "Billy Tea" at the Home of Vegemite-Beaufort.
Then we travel through the towns of Ararat and Stawell then we will view the Eastern side of the magnificent Grampians. We arrive at the Majestic Mackenzie water falls. While you admire these spectacular water falls your Driver/Guide turns into a Master chef preparing a sumptuous lunch.
After lunch it's only a short drive to Reids Lookout and the breathtaking Jaws of Death lookout.
And then onto Boroka lookout for a photo stop looking over the picturesque town of Halls Gap.
We then take a short drive to Halls Gap and set up camp at "Tim's Place" we then go Kangaroo feeding at the oval only a 50-meter walk from Tim's place.
Your Chef will now be preparing a true blue Aussie BBQ.
We will dine around an Open Bush campfire and then after dinner try your luck in toasting marshmallows.
Your Driver/Guide/Chef now turns into a game host were we will play some fun games around the campfire.
Then its time for bed and remember if you here thumping around the camp site it's only a friendly Kangaroo looking for a sausage or two.
DAY 2: Lets get Physical
Wakey, wakey it's time for a Hearty breakfast and also time to feed breaky to our friends (Kangaroos).
It's time to put your Hiking Boots on as we travel to Conquer "The Pinnacles "Your breath will be taken away once we reach the top of the Pinnacles.
We then travel the scenic route via Silverband falls and head for The Brambuk Cultural Centre home of the Jardwadjali and Djab Wurrung Aboriginal people where we learn the rich and vibrant culture. Try our hand in Dot painting.
We depart Halls Gap and your driver/guide/chef/entertainer will again provide some fun on the way back to Melbourne. We travel through the town of Moyston the birthplace of the Greatest Game of Australian sport of "Aussie football."
We have a short stop at Ballan and then back in Melbourne around 6.00 P.M.
DAY1: Morning Tea-Lunch-Aussie BBQ Dinner around the Open Fire-Overnight Accommodation-Transportation-Services of Professional Driver/Guide-Park Fees
DAY 2: Breakfast-Lunch

Are non-fundable if cancellations are made less than 5 days before the trip. Guests are welcome, however, to on sell their ticket, but must inform LTSU via email of the name change.
Are open to non-students/friends as long as their accompanied by current La Trobe student/s
